Infrastructure market share increasing

The level of investment to expand Norway’s infrastructure is increasing, with plans to develop new road and rail systems worth billions under way. These projects are complex and challenging, and there is a political commitment to execute and complete them in accordance with the appropriate levels of safety and quality and within the expected deadline. To meet this demand, Safetec Nordic AS, an ABS Group company, plans to increase its already solid and robust infrastructure team, which has had success already within the sector through collaboration with Dr. Ing. Aas Jakobsen. Together, the two partners have supported several significant national and regional projects, including Fellesprosjektet Ringeriksbanen/E16, E6 Manglerudprosjektet and several InterCity projects. Safetec also delivers a range of risk management services to various parties such as the Norwegian Railway Administration, where we provide RAMS, SIL, emergency preparedness, security and safety culture support. In addition, we conduct risk analyses for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, especially within tunnel safety. It is also an added value for Safetec that all of its regional offices are involved with important infrastructure projects in the region.

“To work on the largest infrastructure project in Norway is incredibly exciting: it is complex and challenging, and at the same time, very rewarding. This project has considerable public importance, something that gives us extra motivation,” says Reidun K Opsahl, Safety Engineer for Safetec and RAMS leader for one of the sections in Fellesprosjektet Ringeriksbanen/E16. Our unique knowledge base and complete line of risk management services, makes us stand out as an important and strategic supporter to the infrastructure branch.

Safetec is determined to be a part of Norway’s future infrastructure projects, especially those presented in Nasjonal Transportplan (NTP).
