Risk management for Songa Offshore

08.01.2016

Songa Offshore is currently in the last stages of the Cat-D project, where four state of the art semi-submersible harsh environment drilling rigs are built at the DSME shipyard in Okpo, South Korea. The first of these Cat-D rigs, the Songa Equinox, commenced on drilling contract for Statoil beginning of December 2015. Safetec, an ABS Group Company, played a partial role in the process of achieving this huge milestone for Songa Offshore.

During design and construction of the Cat-D rigs in South Korea, Safetec has played an important role in the risk management process as one of the main suppliers of 3rd party studies within barrier management and risk analysis. As part of the Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) process, Safetec resources has participated in the engineering and construction phase in South Korea to ensure an overall integration of risk management and safety studies, in accordance with Songa Offshore’s requirements and approval.

Participating in this prestigious project with a very close cooperation with the client, Safetec has shown their good capability of delivering overall risk management services for offshore projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
