Risk analysis of the railway reform

Safetec supports the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications

Safetec, an ABS Group Company, has been awarded a frame agreement with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. The agreement covers safety consulting services in relation to the government’s railway reform. The reform envisions better distribution of the various fields of responsibility within the Norwegian railway sector, including establishing a directorate. This reform will be implemented in 2017.

Safetec is now engaged in preparing a risk assessment of the planned changes. Wide-scale structural change has the potential to influence risk, and consequently may affect the level of safety, security and emergency preparedness. The risk assessment will identify possible hazards associated with the railway reform and contribute towards the goal of maintaining a high level of safety in the Norwegian rail sector.
