Safetec plays key role in Norwegian Cyber Exercise


Safetec, an ABS Group Company, is playing a key role in the planning, execution and evaluation of the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom)’s national scenario based on a cyber-attack incident emergency. The official threat assessment for 2015, presented by the Norwegian Intelligence Service, underlines the relevance and importance of training and practicing, in handling these types of incidents.

The ‘National Cyber ​​Exercise 2015’ is an important part in training and preparing for incident management for the various scenarios typically occurring in cyber-attacks. The exercise aims to practise preparedness, management and cooperation during an incident of logically directed attacks against the central and critical ecom structure in Norway. The exercise will mainly involve ministries, directorates, ecom and power providers.

Scheduled for late 2015, Safetec will be providing expertise in crisis management at the strategic level, and developing the scenario and storyboard. We will also support Nkom through supervision and evaluation. The assignment demonstrates Safetec’s important role at the national level, by using our expertise to assist and advise Norwegian authorities in the sensitive area of security and crisis management.
