Johan Sverdrup contract to Safetec

Safetec Secures a Master Service Agreement for Johan Sverdrup Development

Statoil has awarded Safetec Nordic AS, an ABS Group company and a leading provider of risk management services, a contract (master service agreement) to deliver emergency preparedness studies and other risk services for the first phase of the Johan Sverdrup field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

According to Statoil, the multiphase Johan Sverdrup development ranks among the top five largest oil field discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), with expected resources ranging from 1.7 to 3 billion barrels of oil equivalent. As part of the contract work scope, Safetec will conduct the emergency preparedness analysis for all four platforms. The project specific agreement is based on Safetec’s existing company frame agreement with Statoil.

Johan Sverdrup is scheduled to start production at late 2019. Statoil estimates the field’s peak production will be equivalent to 25% of all Norwegian petroleum production.

The risk management advisor will conduct integrated studies on all four platforms during the first phase of the major project development.
