Marine Operations

Marine Operations are often complex operations involving heavy lifts under varying environmental conditions. Safetec have, based on experience and competence, been participating in research projects and analyses of such operations. These include:

SAFETRANS (SAFEr design and operation of offshore TRANSports)
SafeTrans is a joint industry project for development of a comprehensive, integrated tool for planning and operating the towing and installation of larger objects in a safe and effective way. This is done by the use of modern analysis methods, databses and instrumentation.

SAFETRANS consists of two main units, an office based tool for the simulation of different types of tows, and a ship based tool for decision-making support during operations. The system can be used for most towing operations, in addition to critical operations such as pipelaying, drilling etc.

SAFETRANS is used by classification societies, research institutions, consultancies, and oil and transport companies.

Risk analyses of marine operations
Marine operations can be large, complicated operations were the influencing factors are many, such as waves, current, complex waters etc. Typical operations are, towing, loading / unloading, difficult approaches etc.
